About the Spotlight

In the face of escalating climate hazards and increasingly complex systems, the ability to sense, diagnose, and predict performance is vital.

Prof. Eleni Chatzi, a global leader in structural health monitoring and digital twins, will lead ICONHIC 2026’s new Entrepreneurial Spotlight, showing how monitoring coupled with smart models can advance our capacity to anticipate risks and achieve resilient infrastructure.

We invite entrepreneurs, start-ups, spin-offs, and SMEs developing monitoring, diagnostics, prognostics, or data-driven solutions for any infrastructure domain — above and below ground, including lifelines, energy systems, transport assets, underground networks, and all types of critical facilities. The spotlight will showcase breakthrough technologies in:

  • Multi-hazard monitoring of infrastructure
  • Prognostics & diagnostics for resilient systems
  • Data-driven methods for decision support and risk reduction

 

Call for Entrepreneurs

Start-ups and innovators worldwide are invited to apply for inclusion in this unique spotlight. Proposals will be reviewed by Prof. Chatzi and the ICONHIC 2026 team. Selected participants will be invited to showcase their technologies through short presentations and live demonstrations.

Deadline: 30 November 2025

 

Conference Session

Anchor Talk — Prof. Eleni Chatzi will open the session with a 20-minute keynote lecture: “Toward Self-Aware Infrastructure.”

Entrepreneur Presentations — Selected start-ups and innovators (up to 10) will deliver short presentations, followed by a moderated Q&A with the audience.

Exhibition Showcase

A dedicated pavilion in the Exhibition Area featuring rapid demo rounds (max. 3 minutes each), offering a fast-paced overview of innovations. Interactive screens, models, and displays will allow delegates to explore technologies hands-on and engage directly with entrepreneurs.

Selected innovators will be invited to showcase their technology through short presentations and live demonstrations. Submissions will be reviewed by Prof. Chatzi and the ICONHIC 2026 committee. Selected entrepreneurs will be contacted with further details on logistics.
