Welcome Reception
The perfect beginning to the
ICONHIC experience.
Scheduled on the opening day of the conference, the Welcome Reception is the ideal continuation of the afternoon sessions and the true start of the ICONHIC week.
After an inspiring opening program featuring the keynote lecture “Feeding the Future: Natural Hazard Threats to Global Food Supplies and Trade” and a high-level opening panel with leaders from ASCE, NIBS, and NIST, participants are invited to continue the discussions in a far more relaxed setting — by the seaside, under the colors of the Cretan sunset.
Whatever could not be said in the conference hall can continue here: new ideas, new collaborations, spontaneous conversations, and the first shared memories of the week.
Join fellow delegates, speakers, and guests for a relaxed evening with drinks, friendly company, and the unmistakable ICONHIC atmosphere that sets the mood for the days ahead.

Beach Party
Probably the least formal conference
dinner you will ever attend.

Delegates, accompanying persons, friends, and families are encouraged to join the ICONHIC Conference Beach Party — an evening designed to celebrate the people behind the conference.
Forget the conventional conference dinner. Here, it is all about your feet in the sand, summer energy, relaxed beach vibes, and conversations that continue late into the night under the Cretan sky.
Expect Greek-style street food, refreshing drinks, music, classic hits that keep the atmosphere alive, and — for the more adventurous — a chance to join traditional Greek dancing. Participation is optional, but highly encouraged once the music starts.
The event is intentionally family-friendly, and children are more than welcome to join the celebration.
