Biography
Dr. Stavroula Fotopoulou holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering (2006), an MSc in Earthquake Engineering and Seismic Design of Structures (2007) and a PhD in Civil Engineering (2012) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Her research interests lies on the vulnerability and risk assessment of civil engineering structures including buildings, facilities and infrastructures due to various earthquake related hazards (i.e. ground shaking, landslides, liquefaction, tsunami), geotechnical engineering, soil dynamics, development of seismic scenarios and ground response analysis, numerical analysis of soil-structure-interaction effects, GIS applications. She has actively participated in 12 European and National research projects in the field of geotechnical earthquake engineering, seismic vulnerability and risk assessment of structures. She has recently acted as Principal investigator of research project: RESPORTS – Resilient, system-wide seismic risk assessment of port facilities. Application to Thessaloniki Port system, which is funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research & Innovation. She has authored and co-authored 74 publications in scientific journals, conference proceedings etc. (email: sfotopou@civil.auth.gr)
