Biography
Božidar Stojadinović is the Chair of Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering at the Institute of Structural Engineering of ETH Zurich, a member of the ETH Risk Center and a cluster leader at the SEC Future Resilient System program in Singapore. He is principally engaged in research on community disaster resilience. In this area, he specializes in performance-based probabilistic resilience evaluation and design of civil infrastructure systems, buildings and bridges. His other research interests are in performance-based seismic design and response modification of structures, seismic meta-materials, and hybrid simulation of the dynamic response of structures. He serves as a consultant on seismic safety of nuclear facility structures. He is an ACI Fellow, and a recipient of the 2004 ASCE Walter L. Huber Civil Engineering Research Prize and the 2017 ACI Chester Paul Siess Award for Excellence in Structural Research. During his academic career at ETH Zurich, University of California Berkeley and University of Michigan in Ann Arbor he graduated 42 doctoral students.
