Biography
Henry Moatsos started his professional career in 1988 in insurance when he joined Aegis Insurances, the legal representative of Royal Insurance and correspondent of Alexander & Alexander in Greece.
In 1999 he joined CGU (now Aviva) in Greece as head of underwriting and then became Deputy General Manager in charge of insurance operations.
In 2009 he joined AXA Insurance in Greece, as Chief Operating Officer, in charge of Property & Casualty and Life & Savings operations, before becoming Chief Executive Officer of the organization, from 2014 until 2021.
Henry Moatsos has served as a member of the Board and of the Executive Committee of the Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies and is currently heading its Property, Catastrophe & Marine Committee. A former 4-term President of the Board of the Association of Representatives and Executives of Insurance Companies, he is now Vice President. He has served on the Board of the Motor Auxiliary Fund and the Hellenic Institute for Insurance Studies. He is French Foreign Trade Advisor (Conseiller du Commerce Extérieur – Comité National Grèce).
He holds a Master’s Degree (MA in Management) from the University of Fribourg in Switzerland and an International Executive Programme (IEP) from INSEAD in France. He is married and has two children.
