Biography

David McAlister has more than 35 years of experience in the global transportation and infrastructure industry.  He began his career as a Track Supervisor with the CSX freight railroad in the US and later joined Parsons Brinckerhoff (now WSP).  He has served in various roles with the firm, beginning as a track work design engineer and project manager and later served as a Regional Manager for the US Transportation group and Managing Director of Europe, Africa and Middle East out of London.  David currently serves as the WSP Global Director, Transport and Infrastructure, headquartered in New York.

During his career, David has worked with major transport projects including the Cleveland (Ohio) Waterfront Line, the Baltimore (MD) Central Light Rail Line, The Westcoast Mainline Rehabilitation (UK), the Local Roads and Drainage Program (Qatar), the Kuala Lumpur to Singapore HSR, California HSR and Melbourne Metro (Australia).

David is a Registered Professional Engineer in four states and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University.
